Alex Kovacs MBA, C.M., C.A.E.

Acting Director of Aviation

Alex Kovacs serves as the Acting Director of Aviation at Colorado Springs Airport (COS), effective February 10, 2025 . In his prior role as Assistant Director of Aviation, he led the Finance, Properties, and Design and Construction Teams.

Prior to joining Colorado Springs Airport, Alex spent 16 years at the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, most recently as the Director of Finance, leading the Accounting, Budget, Finance, and Risk Management areas. He also served as the Treasurer of the Nevada Aviation Association and on the Board of the Southwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (SWAAAE).

Alex has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University Nevada. He is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and currently pursuing the Accredited Airport Executive designation.

Brett Miller

Assistant Director of Aviation of Operations

Brett has vast aviation knowledge as he has served many functions over the past 23 years in the aviation industry, working in general and commercial airports.  As the Assistant Director of Aviation of Operations, Brett has a complete understanding of Airfield design, FAA regulations, and community relations and has brought all three of those functions together to operate a safe and efficient airport. Brett is certified by the American Association of Airport Executives as an Airport Certified Employee (Operations).  

Jim Lovewell

Assistant Director of Airline Affairs, Marketing & Communications

Jim leads the Air Service Development and Marketing and Communications teams. These groups coordinate support for current air carriers, attract new carriers and destinations to COS, share the airport story and enhance the customer experience. Prior to joining the Colorado Springs airport, Jim served 24 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force and worked at the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation.

Troy Stover

Director of Business Park Development

Troy Stover has been at the Colorado Springs Airport since March 2005, when he started as the Facilities Maintenance Manager. He was promoted to the Operations Manager position in October 2007, and from 2013 to 2022 held the position of Assistant Director of Administration and Finance. Troy is currently the Director of Business Park Development for Peak Innovation Park. Before working at the Colorado Springs Airport, Troy managed the Jefferson County Airport (now known as Rocky Mountain Metro). He began working there after high school as a Maintenance Tech/Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) while earning his Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Metro State College. After receiving his Bachelor's degree, Troy also served as a Board Member and President of the Colorado Airport Operator’s Association (CAOA) for 10 years and remains an active member in the State Aviation Community.
