Registration Coming Soon!
Registration for the 25th annual Bike to Work Day and Corporate Challenge, sponsored by KOAA News 5 and the Colorado Springs Independent, opens soon. Bicyclists will then be able to sign up to ride to any one of several breakfast locations across Colorado Springs.
Bike to Work Day encourages bicycling for personal and community health, alternative transportation, recreation and sustainability. Breakfast locations along the trail network are designed to support how people actually ride their bikes to work while highlighting local businesses that support bicycling in the community. Now, instead of having one main location supported by the City, there will be multiple locations supported by the community.
Breakfast stations are first-come, first-serve so let us know what stations you’ll partake in. Register early to win great prizes and to ensure there’s enough food for everyone.
June is Bike Month in Colorado and there are lots of great ways to celebrate all month long. For more Bike Month events and activities visit: www.BikeColoradoSprings.org/calendar
The Corporate Challenge is a friendly competition among local employers to see who can secure the most participants for Bike to Work Day. It offers employees an opportunity to experience bike commuting and employers can demonstrate their commitment to a happy, healthy workplace.
Businesses can compete with similarly sized companies split into four classes and rankings are calculated using an effort index rather than a simple number of participants per company. Companies may also choose to participate in head-to-head competitions with similar businesses. Prizes are awarded to the top-performing companies in each category.
- Class A (1-29 employees)
- Class B (30-99 employees)
- Class C (100-299 employees)
- Class D (300+ employees)
