City Council is looking for volunteers to serve on Boards and Commissions

The City of Colorado Springs is seeking volunteers to serve on the following boards and commissions:

  • Historic Preservation Board: Advises City Council in the implementation of the Historic Preservation program for the City. Administers the Historic Preservation Overlay Zone through the review of building and demolition permits for properties that are zoned with the Historic Preservation Overlay, among other responsibilities. Meetings take place on the first Monday of every month from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Special meetings may be called for specific projects. Members of the board also serve on committees that maintain a separate meeting schedule.
  • City of Colorado Springs/El Paso County Drainage Board: Advises the Colorado Springs City Council and the El Paso County Board of Commissioners regarding (1) subdivision codes and regulations relating to the drainage and control of flood and surface waters and (2) administration of the Subdivision Storm Drainage funds.  The board also works closely with the City Engineer and the County Engineer to make recommendations on new drainage studies and fees. Currently seeking a Subdivision Engineer and a Home Builder representative. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 107 N. Nevada Avenue.
