Special Work Session tomorrow for second presentation to propose new committee
Colorado Springs City Council will continue discussions about a proposed Police Advisory Committee that would be a volunteer group serving in an advisory role to Council. A Special Work Session is being held tomorrow, June 11 at 4:15 p.m. in City Hall.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the mission and potential participants of a new advisory committee regarding the Colorado Springs Police Department. This will be the second presentation on the topic to City Council, the first presentation occurred at the April 14 Work Session which can be viewed here. Originally this item was scheduled to come back to Council at the June 22 Work Session, Council decided this topic is urgent and decided to hold the discussion earlier.
City Council Work Sessions are for discussion among Council members only, there will be no public comment at this meeting. As the proposal moves forward there will be plenty of opportunity for public feedback and action at future Council meetings before anything is implemented.
How to Watch:
The meetings will be viewable to the public live through SpringsTV (Comcast Channel 18 and 880 (HD) and Century Link Channel 18, or www.coloradosprings.gov/springstv) and livestreamed on the Colorado Springs City Council Facebook page @coscitycouncil.
