Human Relations Commission (HRC)
HRC Objectives
- Develop and implement outreach programs and forums relating to diversity, equal rights and equal opportunity issues that may affect the social fabric and well-being of the community;
- Facilitate constructive conflict resolution between stakeholder constituencies that encompass human relations issues through dialogue, facilitation, and other communications approaches, methods and techniques;
- Amplify ways to monitor and measure community relations;
- Ensure that these interpersonal efforts are supported in a meaningful and consistent manner;
- Foster an environment of fairness and respect among community members;
- Offer recommendations to City Council regarding emerging issues of social impact to the community;
- Act as a referral resource or sounding board to City Council in these and related matters, as requested.
