Learn to identify common breeding birds by sight and sound in addition to learning about the plants and trees that form the habitat where the birds live. Birds Walks will be happening August 4th and 24th.

Meet at the Gift Shop at Crystal Reservoir, 6 miles up the Pikes Peak Highway, for a walk of about one mile on relatively flat terrain. The walk will begin at 9:00 AM, it's recommended that you arrive at the entrance to Pikes Peak at 8:30 AM to allow ample travel time up the highway.

The Highway access fee for Crystal Reservoir is $5 per person. In addition to your entry fee you will need to reserve a $1 North Slope Parking Permit in advance. Purchase your tickets HERE.

Joe LaFleur will lead the walk, a local wildlife biologist and author of the book Mountain Birds of Teller County. Binoculars suggested.

PLEASE NOTE: The Aug. 4 bird walk has been moved to Aug. 24! if you already purchased your NSRA parking permit for Aug. 4 please email pikespeakinfo@coloradosprings.gov to get that changed to the new date. Thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience!
