Join us at the Pikes Peak Nature Journaling Club August meeting for an amazing time! Get ready to embark on a short hike alongside the awesome Ranger Angela, who will guide you to a serene location where you can let your thoughts flow onto paper. Whether you're a wordsmith or an artist, this is your chance to do what you love in the midst of nature's wonders!
Remember to bring your journaling materials, plenty of water, snacks or lunch, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat for your comfort. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. Bring a picnic blanket if you don't want to sit directly on the ground!
We'll meet at 10AM at Crowe Gulch, located 3 miles up the Pikes Peak Highway. We kindly request that you arrive at the Pikes Peak Gateway no later than 9:45AM to allow ample time for entrance and travel up the highway. Restrooms will be available at our meeting location. The meeting will last 3 hours but attendees are welcome to stay as long as they want.
A reservation is not required. Upon entering the Pikes Peak Highway, inform the Ranger at the gate that you're heading to Crowe Gulch for nature journaling to receive a reduced toll of $5 per adult; children under 16 enter for free.
The entrance address is 5089 Pikes Peak Highway, Cascade, CO 80809.
In case of inclement weather, please call (719) 385-7325 for event updates, as the event may be subject to cancellation.
All ages are welcome, though the club is best suited for ages 7 and above, and please note that the hike is not stroller-friendly.
