A Burn Ban is in Effect

Due to drought conditions, exceptionally dry fuel moisture levels, and an increase in grass fires in Colorado Springs, the CSFD Division of the Fire Marshal is taking steps to heighten awareness and reduce fire risks.

At noon (MDT), on May 16, a Burn Ban goes into effect and will remain until rescinded.

Under a burn ban, free revokable permits are required by Colorado Springs Fire Department for hot work and solid fueled outdoor cooking for restaurants, food trucks and commercial catering operations.
