Colorado Springs Airport Reports Strong Passenger Numbers in May, Announces Route Updates

Colorado Springs, CO – At the end of May, 2018, a total of 688,895 passengers traveled through the Colorado Springs Airport (COS), representing a 16.8 percent increase in year-to-date total passenger traffic from May, 2017, and representing a 24.3 percent increase in enplanements.

In its monthly traffic report, COS reported 153,558 passengers traveling though COS in May, showing a 29.1 percent increase in enplanements and a 19.8 percent increase in total passenger traffic from May, 2017.

May’s year-to-date load factors (the percentage of seats filled with paying passengers) was slightly down at -1.4 percent. Delta reported an 87.7 percent load factor, followed by American at 85.7 percent, Frontier at 82.5 percent, and United at 80.8 percent.

COS currently serves 15 nonstop flights on 4 airlines. Summer seasonal service to Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, San Antonio, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington D.C. with Frontier Airlines will continue through August and September, 2018, and is expected to return for the summer 2019 travel season. Seasonal flights to Tampa and Fort Myers will not be restarted for the 2018-19 winter travel season.
