FlyCOS January Passenger Numbers

Colorado Springs, CO – In January, 2019, a total of 113,121 passengers traveled through the Colorado Springs Airport (COS), representing a 12 percent decrease in total passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2018. Although monthly traffic decreased, aircraft load factors were up 5.1 percent.

The four carriers at COS enplaned a total of 57,524 passengers in the month of January on 15.2 percent fewer seats year-to-date when compared to 2018. Passengers filled an average of 83.9 percent of all seats during the month, with each carrier achieving a load factor between 78.7 percent and 84.8 percent, a 5.1 percent overall YTD increase.

Looking Ahead:

  • Frontier’s 2019 summer seasonal service to Atlanta, Minneapolis/St Paul, San Antonio and Washington, D.C. will return between April 30 and May 1 for summer 2019. Tickets are available to be booked NOW!
  • United will add first class seating options to their 2x daily flight from COS – LAX, beginning February 2019.
  • Summer 2019, American will increase COS – DAL service to 6x per day with first class seating options.

COS currently serves 10 nonstop destinations on 4 airlines, with additional seasonal routes starting at the end of April. With up to 35 daily departures to choose from and connecting options to over 300 destinations around the world, COS encourages residents in southern Colorado to “look before you book,” and offers simple parking, easy check-in, and a short drive home.
