Biking
Bicycle use is permitted on Pikes Peak - America's Mountain during normal operating hours only. Bicyclists are subject to all tolls and hours of operation. The winding and scenic road will challenge the most experienced riders, but the ascent to the 14,115ft summit is worth the experience. We want you to experience all that Pikes Peak - America's Mountain has to offer and have a few safety tips and regulations for your visit.
Special Event: Pedal Pikes Peak
Cyclists can access the Pikes Peak Highway early October 5,6,12, and 13. The highway will open to cyclists at 7 AM with no vehicle traffic until 9 AM. Riders must go single file in the right lane and wear reflective clothing with blinking lights on their bikes. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be available at the summit starting at 8:30 AM, and restrooms will be available along the route.
We encourage you to carpool with fellow cyclists to the Pikes Peak Highway. In the event that the parking stalls near the gateway reach capacity, we have teamed up with the North Pole Santa's Workshop to provide overflow parking in their northwest lot. Parking attendants will be on site starting at 6:00 AM.
