COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The City of Colorado Springs, in conjunction with the Springs Rescue Mission, will begin cleanup efforts along Mill Street near the SRM campus tomorrow, Wednesday, August 21. This event will be the first of four annual cleanup efforts in the area strategized by Springs Rescue Mission, with the City’s Stormwater, Parks Department, and Homelessness Prevention and Response Coordinator. The goal of the initiative is to protect the character of the Mill Street Neighborhood, one of the most established communities in Colorado Springs.

Discussing the cleanup efforts, Springs Rescue Mission Chief Development Officer, Travis Williams said, “Springs Rescue Mission has always been about lending a helping hand. To be able to bless our neighbors in the Mill Street Neighborhood brings us great joy.”

Twenty volunteers from Springs Rescue Mission will be on hand to conduct the cleanup efforts between 8:30 - 11:30 am. The public is encouraged to support the Springs Rescue Mission and Salvation Army through the City’s Help COS campaign, empowering local service providers to address the issues of homelessness in our community.
