COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Mountain Metro is experiencing a shortage of reporting bus drivers. Fixed route bus service reductions are being implemented at noon today as follows:

  • There are no cuts to the ADA Paratransit service
  • Eliminate Route #40 that goes to the north Pikes Peak Community College campus.  PPCC is closed.
  • Route #1 (South Academy to Downtown) will go from 15 minute to 30 minute frequency
  • Route #27 (Citadel to PPCC South Campus along Academy Blvd) will go from 15 minute frequency to 30 minute frequency

All buses use clean diesel technology and are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, there are bike racks on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program.
