Dear Mountain Metro customer,
Over the last few weeks, information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has raised concerns, and we want you to know we are committed to minimizing risk.
We are taking additional measures to keep our vehicles clean and our customers and employees healthy. Our buses and ADA paratransit vehicles are being cleaned every day with hospital-grade disinfectant. Teams are wiping down seats, steering wheels, handles, buckles, stop request pull cords, and other high-touch areas.
The City of Colorado Springs has been working closely with El Paso County Public Health to monitor the progression of the COVID-19 virus in our community as well as in other cities. We are working hand-in-hand with County government and El Paso County Health, which is the lead agency on this topic.
As the lead agency, El Paso County Health is working with the state (CDPHE) and the CDC in obtaining the most accurate and up-to-date information, and we are following their guidance.
As a passenger, please do your part to stay healthy and protect others by following the El Paso County Public Health’s recommendations about proper hygiene and preventing the spread of illnesses, including COVID-19.
- Clean hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.
- Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Get an annual flu vaccine if you have not had one, to provide protection against the flu.
- Create a personal preparedness plan (www.ready.gov/pandemic)
We are monitoring the situation very closely and will take appropriate action as needed. We are committed to sharing updated, reliable information. For additional information on the City’s response, as well as links to other agencies, visit www.coloradosprings.gov.
Thank you for your continued patronage.
