Mountain Metro "Sounds the Horn" to Thank Transit Drivers

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Mountain Metropolitan Transit will participate in the Sound the Horn Campaign to honor heroic transportation workers across the country. As a tribute to bus drivers and other transit staff on the front lines of this public health crisis buses running in service will give two one-second horn blasts at 1:00 p.m. today. Heroic transportation workers across the country continue to provide critical service for healthcare workers, first responders, childcare workers, grocery store employees and other heroes who are performing critically essential work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mountain Metropolitan Transit provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses use clean diesel technology and are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, there are bike racks on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program.
