Mountain Metro Transit Complying with New Executive Order for Mandatory Masks

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Effective Friday, July 17, pursuant to the State Health Order, Mountain Metropolitan Transit will deny admittance or service and require the removal of any individual who fails to wear a medical or non-medical face covering on all of its fixed-route bus service and ADA paratransit service vehicles. The following individuals are exempt from the requirements of this Executive Order:

  • Individuals ten (10) years old and younger; or
  • Individuals who cannot medically tolerate a face covering.

Mountain Metro Transit will be distributing a limited number of masks at the downtown bus terminal tomorrow to assist riders in complying with the Executive Order.

Mountain Metropolitan Transit provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, there are bike racks on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program. For additional information regarding Mountain Metropolitan Transit please visit www.mmtransit.com, or call (719) 385-RIDE (7433).
