Content

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) added valuable transit service to the community and made important customer service improvements. Just this year Mountain Metro:

  • Partnered with Google Maps to launch real time bus location and arrival information
  • Launched the College Pass Program which provides UCCS and Colorado College students unlimited access to the bus system by just swiping a student I.D. card
  • Added 15-minute frequency bus service to North Academy Blvd.
  • Improved on-time performance on five key routes
  • Introduced a new ridesharing tool, RidePro, helping citizens find someone to share a ride with for a one-time trip or the daily commute, including carpool, vanpool, biking and public transit.

“Mountain Metro continues to implement the latest in transit technology, improve on-time performance, and develop innovative programs and partnerships that are vital to our local economy,” said Craig Blewitt, director of Mountain Metropolitan Transit.

Mountain Metropolitan Transit provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses use clean diesel technology and are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, there are bike racks on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program.
