The court and probation departments provide important and essential services to the public, and it is our goal to maintain normal operations to the fullest extent possible. We understand there is concern about COVID-19 and are taking appropriate measures to ensure the health and well-being of its employees and citizens.. The Colorado Springs Municipal Court is requesting that you DO NOT COME TO THE COURTHOUSE if:
- You have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (“Novel Coronavirus”), and you have not received a subsequent test confirming that you are currently virus-free;
- You have been in direct contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past fourteen days;
- You are experiencing a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or any other respiratory illness symptoms;
- You are not a party to an active case, a subpoenaed witness, an alleged victim in any case, or an attorney.
At this time, the Colorado Springs Municipal Court has ordered a 30 day stay of execution on all cases with a pending court date between now and April 16. Any defendant who misses their court appearance will have until 5 p.m. April 17 to reschedule their court appearance. The defendant may appear at the court to reschedule or may contact the court directly at (719) 385-5922 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to speak with a clerk about current options. If you are feeling ill, have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or are at risk and would like to reschedule an upcoming court date, please contact the court at (719) 385-5922.
