Final road striping at the intersection Black Forest Road and Woodmen Road, Vollmer Road and Research Parkway will be completed Sunday, Dec. 8, weather permitting.
Alternating short-duration lane closures on Woodmen Road and Black Forest Road will begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until approximately 12 noon to allow for road striping. One eastbound and one westbound lane on Woodmen Road will remain open for traffic. Similar short-duration lane closures at Vollmer Road and Research Parkway will occur throughout the day with all work expected to be completed by late afternoon.
Project completion is on track for the end of 2024, with final punch list items to be completed in early 2025, weather permitting.
The project has widened Black Forest Road to two lanes in each direction from Woodmen Road to north of Research Parkway. The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) "A" List of projects funded the work. For more project info, visit Coloradosprings.gov/BlackForestRd.
