The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is pleased to announce that Southwest Airlines will introduce daily service to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), starting June 4, 2024. This eagerly anticipated route will greatly enhance travelers' accessibility to the Washington D.C.-area, offering convenience and enhanced connectivity.

Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for COS, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The addition of nonstop service to Baltimore is a significant milestone for COS, unlocking travel options for our community from COS to our nation’s capital, a value-added opportunity that is of particular significance for aerospace, defense, and military organizations."

“This new route connecting Colorado Springs to Baltimore represents a pivotal moment for both the COS airport, and the entire Colorado Springs community,” stated Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi. “It enhances travel options for residents and promises to bolster economic growth and foster even stronger connections between Colorado Springs and the Washington D.C. region, with its rich history and dynamic business landscape. This also supports the future growth of our thriving defense, cyber and aerospace industries and the many military service members who call our city home.”

"At Southwest, we build our schedules with a hometown mindset for each market we serve – and this new route exemplifies that,” said Brook Sorem, Vice President, Network Planning at Southwest Airlines. “We look forward to bringing daily nonstop service between COS and BWI.”
