The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) saw a 12.2 percent rise in passenger traffic for the month of October, showcasing a significant increase compared to the same period last year. The airport recorded a total of 113,846 enplanements and served 226,047 passengers, reinforcing a consistent growth trend throughout 2023.

With a 15.2 percent increase in available seats, totaling 138,907, COS continues to see a rising demand for air travel. Despite the expanded seating capacity, the average load factor stood at 82 percent—only marginally lower than the corresponding period in the previous year.

As the holiday season arrives, COS is excited to share the convenience of nonstop flights to three sought after destinations: San Antonio (SAT), San Diego (SAN), and Houston (HOU) courtesy of Southwest Airlines. These nonstop routes will be available for select dates in November, December, and January, with the added news that the Houston (HOU) service will extend beyond January to meet sustained passenger demand.

Southwest Airlines has also confirmed its commitment to enhancing connectivity by introducing daily nonstop service to Baltimore/Washington (BWI), set to take flight on June 4, 2024.

“With the announcement of nonstop service to Baltimore/Washinton with Southwest Airlines, our highly anticipated holiday parking promotion beginning, the commencement of ElevateCOS – our concourse modernization project and partnership with SSP America to bring local restaurants into our airport, there's no shortage of good news at COS,” said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation. “Our thanks go to our travelers and to the community of Colorado Springs. With your support, COS continues to grow in every way. Our goal is to ensure you have a great travel experience at COS.”

Holiday travelers can also take advantage of discounted parking this season. COS is excited to relaunch its popular holiday parking promotion, offering 50 percent off daily long-term parking (regular daily rate: $8.00/day) from November 20, 2023, to November 26, 2023, and December 20, 2023, to January 2, 2024. Travelers can redeem the savings on long-term parking over the course of these two time periods.

In a concerted effort to enhance the traveler experience, Colorado Springs Airport has embarked on the "ElevateCOS" concourse modernization project. This project is poised to rejuvenate the aging terminal infrastructure, boost accessibility, and advance sustainability initiatives, aligning the airport with the latest industry standards.
