Join Parks, Recreations and Cultural Services for the first Panorama Park Open House to discuss the large renovation scheduled at the park. This initial meeting will focus on INCLUSIVE PLAY and the importance of creating a multi-generational play experience that is welcoming to all.
Panorama Park is a 13.5 acre neighborhoodA geographic sub0area within the city that contains but is not limited to residential land uses. The extent of a neighborhood is variable and may be defined by tradition, organizational boundaries, the period of building and development, or subdivision patterns. Neighborhood boundaries may include such features as major streets or other physical elements. park located in Southeast Colorado Springs adjacent to Panorama Middle School. It will soon receive the largest neighborhood park renovation in city history thanks to grants from Great Outdoors Colorado, The Colorado Health Foundation, the Colorado Springs Health Foundation and Transforming Safety Colorado. The Trust for Public Land, Southeast Colorado Springs RISE Coalition and El Paso County Public Health continue to provide critical leadership for this project.
The park renovation project aims to:
1) Provide a safe, accessible, quality community destination park within a 10-minute walk for many Southeast residents;
2) Add new features based upon community driven needs;
3) Replace aging equipment;
4) Utilize recognized expert partners to advance a resident-led engagement and creative process;
5)Re-envision the park to address limited opportunities for play and hazardous conditions.
