Department Mission - To serve residents of Colorado Springs with integrity, through competent provision and management of trails, open spaces, parks and recreation areas; cultural and historical resources; urban forests; recreation opportunities for youth, teens, adults and seniors; and services that provide for or improve the quality of life and enhance the image of the city.
Colorado Springs is stronger, more vibrant and more resilient because of parks and recreation services and we’re excited to show it during National Parks and Recreation Month 2022. We’ve planned a variety of activities for residents of all ages and abilities to help celebrate!
Several options for swimming and splashing open over Memorial Day weekend. From fountains and spray grounds to outdoor pools and lakes, there are many opportunities for summer fun!
Construction on a new play area in Acacia Park is underway. New equipment, including a unique Ninja Warrior-like climbing structure, plus a tot lot with colorful rubberized features, a slide and a spinner, will be added as part of the project.
