Volunteers learn basics about how to respond to a disaster or emergency in their community through training provided free by the Pikes Peak Office of Emergency Management and its partners. Training includes local risks, personal preparedness, fire and hazmat safety, disaster medical operations, light search & rescue, psychological first aid, terrorism awareness, and team organizational skills.
Registrants should plan to attend all units for successful course completion. This series will be held Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, October 4-5-6 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. AND Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 3755 Mark Dabling Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Choose your session by the START date listed (Oct. 4) Registrants will receive further information including emergency contact form and liability waiver after enrolling.
