Event: Heading Southeast

Content

People sitting in audience during eventAs results from Survey 2 were coming in and being analyzed, the PlanCOS team recognized that there was a lack of responses from zip codes in Southeast Colorado Springs.  The team immediately mobilized to create an event that would provide an opportunity for Southeast Colorado Springs residents to provide much needed input into the City’s new comprehensive plan, PlanCOS.  An event was created and named, Heading Southeast.

With partners, like the YMCA and the El Pomar Foundation, and city leadership, the PlanCOS team was able to co-host Heading Southeast.  The event had about 120 persons in attendance and involved a unique approach by providing every person in the room with a “clicker”.  A series of questions were asked to the audience and a panel at the front stage was able to provide feedback, background, and solicit further questions.  What ensued was a valuable conversation specifically tailored around Southeast Colorado Springs and how the new plan can embody these specific values.

The event took place on July 20, 2017 at the Southeast & Armed Services YMCA (2190 Jet Wing Drive)
