The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section has been investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the female who was discovered on November 6, 2018, in the 3700 block of Astrozon Boulevard. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased female. The victim was identified as Jacquiline Wilde, 24 years of age and a resident of Colorado Springs. This investigation led to the arrest of Pedro Cruz-Quinones. Mr. Cruz-Quinones is 20 years of age and a resident of Colorado Springs. On January 2, 2019, Mr. Cruz-Quinones was charged with the following offenses: Accidents Involving Death, Vehicular Homicide, Manslaughter, and Criminally Negligent Homicide. The Colorado Springs Police Department investigated a total of 38 homicides in 2018, which surpasses the number of homicides investigated in 2017 at 32.

On November 6, 2018, at approximately 3:12 PM, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 3700 block of Astrozon Boulevard on a reported found body. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female in a field, off trail with an apparent traumatic injury. The Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived and confirmed the on-scene death.
