On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at approximately 9:12 A.M., the Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) Communications Center received a request to check the welfare of an adult female that lived in the 8000 Block of Fallgold Court. CSPD officers responded and located a female deceased inside of the residence. Based on the preliminary investigation by patrol officers, detectives from CSPD’s Violent Crimes Section responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
Homicide/Assault Unit detectives began investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death on the same day. Detectives identified the suspects in this investigation as 19-year-old Cohen Heath, also known as Vinn Heath, and a 16-year-old juvenile. Both suspects are residents of Colorado Springs. Heath and the juvenile were both charged with Murder in the first degree. Heath was booked into the El Paso County Jail and the juvenile was booked into the Spring Creek Youth Services Center.
On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased female. The female was identified as 44-year-old Bridget Kenner of Colorado Springs.
Ms. Kenner’s death is the 18th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2020. The Colorado Springs Police Department investigated five homicides at this time last year.
