On August 5, 2018, at approximately 5:22 PM, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Sand Creek Division responded to an apartment complex in the 3100 block of East Fountain Boulevard on the report of a possible drowning involving three children. Upon arrival of officers and the Colorado Springs Fire Department, it was determined three children were found unresponsive in the pool and pulled out onto the concrete decking by a twelve year old who was alerted to the incident. The twelve year old was not present when the children went into the water.
All three children were provided immediate advanced lifesaving and were subsequently transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. Two of the children, a three year old girl and a four year old boy, were held overnight; and as of this morning, are in stable condition and expected to be released later today. The third child, a five year old boy, is currently in critical condition.
