The Colorado Springs Police Department is proud to announce our participation in a regional partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters – Pikes Peak (BBBS), the Office of the Mayor, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado Springs Fire Department. The partnership supports BBBS’ ‘Bigs with Badges’ program.
The ‘Bigs with Badges’ program pairs youth ages 8 – 14 with deputies, police officers, firefighters, and other first responder personnel. Its aim is to provide mentorship to young men and women throughout our city. The youth enrolled in the program are primarily from single-caregiver homes throughout Colorado Springs.
A press conference to kick off the program will be held at the City of Colorado Springs Administration Building (30 South Nevada Avenue), Room #102, on Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Remarks will be provided by Mayor John Suthers, Sheriff Bill Elder, Chief of Police Peter Carey, and Fire Chief Ted Collas. There will be an opportunity for media members to speak with the executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters – Pikes Peak, and photo opportunities with first responder personnel and program participants.
Please join us as we kick of this important program for children throughout our region.
Questions regarding the program may be directed to Lt. John Koch, CSPD, #719-444-7279, email@example.com.
