Robbery Arrests

On January 8, 2019, the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Robbery Unit and Tactical Enforcement Unit took Colorado Springs residents, Allen Matthew Vigil, 32, and Robert Lee Maestas, 49, into custody. Vigil and Maestas were both charged with six bank robberies. The first bank robbery occurred in August 2018 at a bank on West Colorado Avenue. The five other bank robberies occurred in November and December of 2018 in downtown Colorado Springs, the Platte corridor, and the Powers corridor. The Robbery Unit is continuing this investigation and has since discovered an additional robbery which occurred at a local bar. The arrest warrants are pending for both individuals for the additional robbery.
