On September 10, 2018, at approximately 4:27AM, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a call for service from an UBER driver. The driver reported she had picked up a fare in the 500 block of East Dale Street, and the subject had assaulted her. In addition, during the assault the suspect attempted to sexually assault her, striking her and biting her several times, causing significant injuries. During the assault, the victim was able to exit her vehicle, which the suspect then took and fled the scene. The 63 year old victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit responded and assumed the investigation. It was determined by Detectives the suspect was 22 year old Raydrian Tyree Scott. Scott was arrested on September 12, 2018, and was still in possession of the victim’s white 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. Scott was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center for the charges of Attempted Sexual Assault, Second Degree Assault, Robbery, Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. The suspect also was arrested on several unrelated misdemeanor warrants which included domestic violence charges out of Pueblo, Colorado, as well as a non-extraditable warrant out of Alabama, related to his Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
