Traffic Fatality Highlands Vista Rd and Peterson Rd

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, at approximately 8:46 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Highland Vista Road and Peterson Road.  Upon arrival, officers determined a Buick was traveling northbound on Peterson Road and lost control causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and land in the back yard of a private residence.  

The driver of the vehicle, 18 year old Sebastian Warren of Colorado Springs, was seriously injured and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.  The investigation determined that speed was a factor in this crash.  The sole occupant/driver of the vehicle was wearing his seatbelt.

On June 7, 2019 Mr. Warren died as a result of the injuries he suffered in this crash.  This is the 18th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2019.  At this time in 2018, there were 20 traffic fatalities.  The investigation into this matter is continuing.
