COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Roadways in Garden of the Gods Park will receive scheduled crack seal maintenance April 21-22. Crews are set to work from 5 a.m.-5 p.m., and flaggers will help traffic move around the active work areas. Visitors are asked to obey the posted park speed limit of 20 miles per hour and use additional caution in and around work zones. The project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA).
Crack sealing is an important component of routine preventive roadway maintenance applied citywide by the Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division. It helps extend the pavement’s life by mitigating the inevitable occurrence of pavement cracking caused by moisture getting underneath the roadway.
