Work Continues in Preparation for 2018 Paving Season

It may be too cold outside for 2C paving, but work continues in preparation for the 2018 season.

You may see crews replacing concrete, curb and gutter on Stetson Hills Blvd between Powers and Austin Bluffs boulevards and two segments of Briargate Pkwy between Voyager Pkwy and Lexington Drive, and between Union and Powers.

Curb and gutter work is required prior to repaving as any deficiency in this infrastructure creates the risk of water and structural damage, which would significantly lessen the lifespan of any new streets. Further, sidewalk work was completed ahead of paving to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires that any time a street is repaired or repaved, ADA accessibility must be brought up to current standards.
