Update: Repairs to the Palmer Park Boulevard Bridge have been rescheduled to begin April 8, 2019.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Repairs to the Palmer Park Boulevard Bridge over a tributary to the West Fork of Sand Creek, located between Wooten Road and Sanderson Avenue, will begin Monday, April 8.
The project includes:
- Removal and replacement of concrete below deck
- Concrete curb and gutter revisions (removals/replacement)
- Guardrail and handrail remediation
- Concrete patching to the inside of the box culvert
Beginning at 7:00 a.m., east-bound traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane with reduced speeds. The traffic pattern will be switched to west-bound traffic when work is complete on the south side. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place until late June 2019.
Travelers should plan on taking alternate routes during the project.
For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the City of Colorado Springs ask travelers to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.
This project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.
