COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Beginning Thursday, November 8, at 7 p.m. the intersection at Hancock Avenue and Pikes Peak Avenue will close. The section of Pikes Peak Avenue between Hancock Avenue and S. Institute Street will remain closed to facilitate the installation of the new underground utilities and roadway work associated with the Pikes Peak Avenue Reconstruction project.
Detour routing for this closure will be as follows:
- Eastbound Pikes Peak Avenue: left on Institute Street to Platte Avenue, right on Platte Avenue to Union Boulevard, right on Union Boulevard to Pikes Peak Avenue.
- Westbound Pikes Peak Avenue: right on Union Boulevard, left on Platte Avenue, left on Institute Street to Pikes Peak Avenue.
Institute Street will reopen tonight (11/7/18) at 8 p.m. from High St. to Cucharras across Pikes Peak Avenue.
The detour is expected to last for approximately 2 months. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
