SUBJECT: Patty Jewett Junction Play Area Self-Evaluation
1. On 08/24/2021, Title II ADA / Section 504 Coordinator(s) from the Office of Accessibility performed a Title II - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation. This evaluation was performed in accordance with 1991/2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
2. Priorities for removing barriers are assigned in accordance with the ADA Checklist for Existing Facilities, promulgated by the ADA National Network. The checklist follows the four priorities listed in the Department of Justice ADA Title III regulations. These priorities are equally applicable to state and local government facilities:
Priority 1 - Accessible approach and entrance
Priority 2 - Access to goods and services
Priority 3 - Access to public toilet rooms
Priority 4 - Access to other items such as water fountains and public telephones
3. Corrective actions to findings were / will be submitted to the City maintenance work request system and will be managed in accordance with the City Transition Plan. Note: Recommended corrections may be modified where appropriate. Corrections are developed in consideration of the “Program Access” provisions of Title II, where applicable.
4. A copy of this report will be maintained by the Office of Accessibility. Findings
Parking

Where on-street parking is provided on the block perimeter and the parking is marked or metered, accessible parking spaces shall be provided.
There is a total of (XX) marked or metered parking stalls on the block perimeter. There should be a minimum of (XX) accessible stalls designed as van accessible.
Advisory R214 On-Street Parking Spaces. The MUTCD contains provisions for marking on-street parking spaces (see Section 3B.19). Metered parking includes parking metered by parking pay stations. Where parking on part of the block perimeter is altered, the minimum number of accessible parking spaces required is based on the total number of marked or metered parking spaces on the block perimeter.
Where on-street parking is provided on the block perimeter and the parking is marked or metered, accessible parking spaces complying with R309 (On-Street Parking Spaces) shall be provided in accordance with Table R214 (Scoping - On-Street Parking Spaces).

Surface cross slopes shall not exceed one unit vertical in 48 units horizontal (2-percent slope). When the slope in the direction of travel of any walk exceeds 1 unit vertical in 20 units horizontal (5-percent slope), it must be constructed as a ramp.
The running slope of walking surfaces shall not be steeper than 1:20. The cross slope of walking surfaces shall not be steeper than 1:48.
General

At least 5% of the seating in each functional area must be accessible. An accessible table must be on an accessible route (36 inches minimum) and have knee spaces at least 27 inches high, 30 inches wide and 17 inches deep. The tops of tables and counters must be 28 inches to 34 inches from the floor or ground.
Where seating or standing space at fixed or built-in tables, counters or work surfaces is provided in accessible spaces, at least 5 percent of the seating and standing spaces, but not less than one, shall be accessible.
2010 ADAS Section 226.1
Where dining surfaces are provided for the consumption of food or drink, at least 5 percent of the seating spaces and standing spaces at the dining surfaces shall comply with 902. In addition, where work surfaces are provided for use by other than employees, at least 5 percent shall comply with 902.
