Pitkin Street, between Platte Ave and Boulder Street, has historically experienced significant flooding. Local residents were able to coordinate their concerns with City stormwater staff and the area was selected as one of the twenty six projects to receive funding thanks to voters–approved retention of excess sales tax revenues through TABOR.

Work begin early this year make improvements to the intersection of St Vrain Street and Pitkin Street to prevent clogging, protect a nearby home and reduce localized pooling of water.  Neighbors say have noticed a significant improvement with the new more efficient inlet, as well as new curbing and crosspans.
