Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) buses were used overnight to help people who were out in the cold.  The buses, requested by the Pikes Peak Office of Emergency Management (PPOEM), picked up several individuals and provided a warm ride to a shelter.

“The temperatures with this storm have dropped to dangerous, life-threatening levels and Mountain Metropolitan Transit is proud to help our community stay safe”, said Lan Rao, Acting Transit Manager. “We are operating at full service during the storm and will be available to assist with rides again after normal service hours if requested by the PPOEM.”

MMT provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses are wheelchair-lift equipped. MMT also provides other services such as Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, there are bike racks on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program.
