Tap and Go with the Metro Card and the RideMMT App!

The Metro Card is a long-term use, durable card that you can add money to, so you can “Tap & Go” with Metro. You can add funds to your account through our web portal, at our Transit Administration Office, or at participating retailers.

Save Money!

With the Metro Card, travel as much as you like in one day or one month, and we’ll cap your fare, so you never pay more than $4 a day or $63 a month.

Where to get it

You have a couple of options for doing so:

  • You can stop by our Transit Administration Office at 1015 Transit Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80903, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or
  • Order online

Metro Cards have a $0 balance when you purchase them so you will need to add funds before you use your card. The cost of the Metro Card is $5 in addition to the cost of a fare. However, for a limited time Metro Cards are FREE!

Register Your Metro Card

Register your card to view your account balance or add funds with a debit or credit card. Registration is not required to pay for fares, but without it, if your card is lost or stolen you will lose your Tap & Go balance.

Follow the steps online to create an account and register the card.

Rider tip! When registering your card use the 10 numbers at the lower left of your card.  Your pin will be the following 3 digits.

Adding Funds to Your Card

There are many convenient ways to add funds:

  • Online with your credit card. See above on how to create an account.
  • Cash loading at participating VanillaDirect retail locations, including Family Dollar, 7-Eleven, Dollar General, and Kum & Go.
  • You can also buy and load your card at the Transit Administration building at 1015 Transit Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80903. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Using Your Metro Card

Once you have your card and have put funds on it, you are ready to ride! Simply tap your card on the validator when entering the bus. It is just that easy!

Rider tip! Phones and Metro Cards will be used on the validator to the right of the farebox when entering the bus.  When using your phone app place phone over camera area on validator, when scanning card use the card reader below camera area.

Special Fares

Special fares for youth, seniors, and Medicare/disabled entitlement fares are available. Show proper ID or proof of eligibility upon request!

Make your ride even easier with the new RideMMT App!

Enjoy many of the same benefits as with the Metro Card but use your own smartphone to ride MMT.

Download the RideMMT app and use the Tap & Ride barcode to simply scan and go! The app is free to download from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Bus riders can still buy tickets through the MMTransit.com, at ticket vending machines, participating King Soopers and Safeway Stores, the Transit Administration Office (1015 Transit Dr.) or pay a cash fare at the bus just like they have in the past. Purchases of tickets through any of these methods will not benefit from fare capping available with the Metro Card or the RideMMT app.
