The improvement project for the Oak Meadows Park playground located on Farthing Dr. in southwest Colorado Springs is now complete. The renovated playground now provides new, accessible play equipment with ADA compliant parking and access to both the playground and Fire Station 16’s Community Room.

In collaboration with the City of Colorado Springs Office of Accessibility, PRCS designed a space that would be inclusive for all members of the community. The construction included approximately 3,900 square feet of artificial turf, an accessible surface and all new play equipment. Additionally, nearly 3,000 square feet of concrete sidewalk now provides ADA compliant routes to the playground and community room.

The work was funded by the Colorado Springs Trails, Open Space, and Parks (TOPS) sales tax program, the Office of Accessibility and through donations from neighbors in the Oak Meadows Community.
