The City Council of Colorado Springs is seeking volunteers to serve on the following Boards, Commissions, and Committees:

Audit Committee

  • The purpose of the Audit Committee is to assist the City Auditor and advise City Council on matters relating to the City’s fiscal soundness, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, management of the citywide risk environment and performance of internal and external auditors.
  • Meeting Time — 3rd Thursday of every month at 10 a.m.
  • Vacancies – Alternate Members

Law Enforcement Transparency and Advisory Commission

  • The mission of the Law Enforcement Transparency and Advisory Commission (LETAC) is to make recommendations to City Council which would promote improved understanding and relationships between the police department and the public.
  • Meeting Time — 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at 6 p.m.
  • Vacancies – Alternate Members

About Alternate Members: City Council appoints Alternate Members to Boards and Commissions to gain experience. Alternate Members are subject to the same rules and responsibilities as Voting Members of the Board or Commission. Alternate Members are permitted to:

  • Participate in the discussion of the Board or Commission in matters that are not quasi-judicial in nature
  • Substitute in the absence of a Voting Member when necessary to achieve a quorum
  • Vote in any matter in which they are needed to achieve a quorum

City Council is looking for residents of Colorado Springs willing to donate their time, talent and energy to serve on a City Council Appointed Boards, Commissions, and Committees. The City of Colorado Springs has numerous Boards, Commissions, and Committees that cover a wide range of topics and appeal to a variety of interests. The City Council relies on many of these these volunteer Board Members for thoughtful advice to create policies and develop budgets.
