One year after its own re-launch, CONO will begin work on a new program titled Neighborhood Resiliency Program in January 2023.  This effort will lend access to CONO’s technical expertise in creating neighborhood governing bodies in at-risk communities as identified in two ways:

1.Neighborhoods with little to no recognized association, and:

2.Neighborhoods facing economic or social threats

CONO received a grant from the Colorado Trust in November 2022 to start this endeavor in the Hillside neighborhood in south central Colorado Springs where currently no formal association exists. CONO’s work with residents of Hillside will last one calendar year and culminate in a formal filing of governing documents along with elections of executive officers and representatives. Once residents are trained and elected, the future Hillside neighborhood association will be able to advocate on local issues with the full support of their neighborhood. Follow along in 2023 as CONO joins forces with Hillside to educate, equip, and empower residents towards a more vibrant community in south central Colorado Springs.
