City Council Meetings

Currently all meetings are held in the Blue River Boardroom located on the fifth floor of the Plaza of the Rockies located at 121 S. Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

  • Work Session: 10 a.m. on Mondays preceding regular meetings
  • Regular Meeting: 10 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
  • Changes to meeting times will be posted on the meeting agenda.

How to participate

  • The public can email general comments or comments regarding the agenda in advance of a meeting to: AllCouncil@coloradosprings.gov
  • During the meeting, those who wish to comment may attend the meeting in person or should submit their name, telephone number, and the topic or agenda item for comment via AllCouncil@coloradosprings.gov in addition to calling the number from that meeting’s agenda.

Council Responsibilities

As the legislative branch of government for the City of Colorado Springs, council members are elected to four-year terms and are paid an annual stipend of $6,250. They are responsible for:

  • Appointing the city auditor and the council administrator
  • Approving the city budget
  • Establishing tax rates
  • Serving as the governing board of Colorado Springs Utilities
  • In its role as Colorado Springs Utilities Board of Directors, appointing the Chief Executive Officer
  • Setting policies and passing ordinances and resolutions to govern the city
  • Performing the Mayor’s duties in his/her absence (President of council)

Proclamation Request

City Council welcomes the opportunity to recognize exceptional individuals and events within the City. These keepsake proclamations may be issued in honor of civic events, to recognize noteworthy achievements or to celebrate important dates in the life of an individual or organization.  A request for a proclamation must be made at least 10 business days prior to the date requested.
