2019 HOUSING PLAN

The City of Colorado Springs is drafting a plan to create more affordable housing in the city and needs your help! If you have recent experience searching for housing in Colorado Springs, we want to hear from you. Your answers will help us prioritize the most appropriate strategies to create and preserve affordable housing stock and assist tenants and homebuyers. The survey takes less than five minutes to complete!

Fair Housing

Housing providers who refuse to rent, sell or provide equal access to homes to people based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or disability are violating federal law. The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination and the intimidation of people in their homes, apartment buildings, and condominium developments in nearly all housing transactions. 

Housing Rehabilitation Programs

Housing Development works to eliminate slum and blight conditions while improving the well-being of low income households. 

The Housing Rehabilitation Program provides financial assistance through grants to improve housing conditions for qualifying low- and moderate-income households within the City of Colorado Springs.

Community Resources

211

Dial 211 from any phone to be connected to the Colorado 211 database of community and social resources.  211 is a free, confidential, multilingual service that refers callers to non-emergency health and human services.
Referrals include Rental/Utility Bills Assistance and Housing/Emergency Shelter
