The 19th annual Bighorn Sheep Day is Saturday, Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. This free, family event includes wildlife viewing stations, live animals, nature walks, education booths, youth crafts, giveaways and more. The schedule for the educational presentations is below.
- 11 to 11:45 a.m. - Rampart Range Herd
- Noon to 1 p.m. - Colorado Natives – live animal program
- 1:15 to 2p.m. - Bighorn Sheep in the Garden of the Gods
This popular event hosted over 4,000 people in 2023. Organizing partners include Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, Bear Creek Nature Center, Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Friends of Garden of the Gods (FOGG), Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, the U.S. Forest Service, Nature’s Educators, Pikes Peak - America’s Mountain, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Society and Visit Colorado Springs.
