The City Council of Colorado Springs is seeking volunteers to serve on the following Boards, Commissions, and Committees:
- Airport Advisory Commission
- Planning Commission

Airport Advisory Commission
- The purpose is to render advice concerning the airport master plan, its implementation, updating or changes, and shall review and make recommendations concerning long range planning for the airport to the Mayor, the City Council and the City Planning Commission
- Meeting Time — 4th Wednesday of every month at 3 p.m.
- Vacancies – Alternate Members
Planning Commission
- The Planning Commission reviews land development applications, including annexations, zoning changes, conditional use permits, master plans, among several others. The Planning Commission also works on and recommends to the City Council long-range plans such as the city’s comprehensive plan, community plans, and land development code.
- Meeting Time — 2nd Wednesday of every month at 9 a.m.
- Vacancies – Voting and Alternate Members
About Alternate Members: City Council appoints Alternate Members to Boards and Commissions to gain experience. Alternate Members are subject to the same rules and responsibilities as Voting Members of the Board or Commission. Alternate Members are permitted to:
- Participate in the discussion of the Board or Commission in matters that are not quasi-judicial in nature
- Substitute in the absence of a Voting Member when necessary to achieve a quorum
- Vote in any matter in which they are needed to achieve a quorum
