The City of Colorado Springs, the Colorado Springs Airport, Colorado Springs Fire Department, Colorado Springs Police Department and the Pikes Peak Regional of Office of Emergency Management conducted a full-scale exercise at the Colorado Springs Airport on Thursday.
The exercise was conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. The FAA mandates that airports conduct these types of full-scale exercises every three years.
“The exercise helped us train on handling a mass casualty event, ensuring survivor treatment, and working with our private and public sector partners to protect passenger and crew privacy, said Andrew Notbohm, PPROEM Executive Director.
