The City Attorney’s Office completed a review on Tuesday, Nov. 14 of a complaint it received on Sept. 29, 2023 with various allegations related to the general municipal election on April 4, 2023. The complaint was filed with the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder and was forwarded to the City Attorney’s Office. While the complaint was not filed as an affidavit that would normally trigger an investigation as set forth in the City Code, the City Attorney’s Office chose to investigate.
The investigation did not establish reasonable grounds for a violation of the City Code or the Colorado Municipal Election Code or to initiate enforcement action in Municipal Court.
