Colorado Springs has been ranked the easiest city to navigate in the United States, according to a recent national study analyzing how efficiently residents and visitors can move through urban areas. The study evaluated dozens of U.S. cities using a data-driven approach focused on real-world travel conditions and accessibility. Colorado Springs ranked No. 1 overall, followed by El Paso, Texas; Bakersfield, California; Virginia Beach, Virginia; and San Francisco, California to round out the top five easiest U.S. cities to navigate.

The study, conducted by Holafly, analyzed cities using a combination of metrics tied to everyday mobility and navigation. These included average commute time, walkability rates, number of public transportation options, traffic conditions, crime index, mobile data speeds, and search demand for navigation tools such as online maps.

Together, these factors measure how easily people can travel between destinations, access reliable directions, and move through a city efficiently, whether by car, transit, or on foot. Colorado Springs performed strongly due in part to its short average commute times, relatively low congestion, and straightforward city layout. The study also noted the role of reliable connectivity and predictable travel patterns in making navigation easier for both residents and visitors.

“This recognition affirms the high quality of life in our city and reflects our commitment to getting the fundamentals of local government right,” said Mayor Yemi Mobolade. “As Colorado Springs continues to grow, we are focused on responsible growth that strengthens our infrastructure, improves how people move through our city, and delivers excellent city services. This ranking reinforces that when we invest in the basics of roads, planning, and connectivity, we create a city that works better for everyone.”

The ranking highlights the importance of continued investment in transportation infrastructure and long-term planning. As Colorado Springs grows, the City remains focused on maintaining efficient travel, improving mobility options, and ensuring residents can navigate the city safely and reliably.
